this is a bruise, an unapologetically huge ipa, surprisingly clear, deep rich honey colored in the glass with a dense inch of lasting white head, pretty brew, viscous and a little intimidating, but pretty. it smells massively hopped, slightly fusel on the alcohol side, and a bit sweet, oily and west coasty though, and my senses come alive with one sniff, very fresh, strong, and distinctive, white gummy bear, green pear, pineapple, and light green onion notes all in the mix. the flavor is intense too, almost like licking a battery, alcohol through the whole thing, some honey sweetness and rich body from the grain balances it some though, but its still huge. the hop profile is cool, maybe some strata in here, idaho 7 perhaps, mosaic likely too, a little catty, canned pineapple, green apple, wildflowers, tangerine zest, lemon candy, and peach rings. this is residually sweet, but its almost needed against the booze, and the hop bitterness is there too which helps. quite bold, but darn good, nothing from the yeast, nothing green or harsh, lots of body and linger, strong but thats okay, and honestly one of the better hoppy beers from these guys in recent memory. a one and done though, a pint can felt like an overkill dose for this, but i liked the liquid a lot. nice to see some new flavors from these guys for their tenth anniversary!

16oz can pours out clear gold with a medium, sticky off-white head. Clear piney hop notes dominate, clean and somewhat dank and resiny, with some impressions of hard candy and pineapple within the sweeter malt backbone that balances this one out. Medium to full body with balanced mouthfeel and a dry, semi-warm finish.

Draft at Payette. Dark, clear golden, small silky head leaves rings of lacing. Piney hops dominate the aroma, which leads into a nice toasty malt backbone in the taste. Very light sweet notes, mildly astringent hops. DIPA from back in the day!
