another one of their anniversary beers for this year, a really neat project. i liked this a lot, maybe better than any hoppy beer ive ever had from these guys, and i reckon its something that should be in their lineup full time. its super bright and modern, they use some cryo hop pellet blend i am not sure i have heard of before, and it makes this really unique to me, with the big dry hopped character present right from the second it hits my lips, not just in the finish, credit the cryo hops for that, sweet orange, floral honey, ripe pineapple, green pear, and a light cream soda note, some gentle grain sweetness too and nothing at all from the yeast, juicy, fresh as can be, resinous, and highly appealing. there is nice clarity to this, is looks relatively light and lively as they go, impressively well refined, clearly they dont need a ton of haze as a vector to hold all the hops, as this is a deliciously dry hoppy to me as any hazy out there, without all the haze, i love that about it. the hop flavors are killer too, strawberry or mixed berry notes from the talus hops i suspect, tons of tangerine, light coconut, and a little bit of pine. i dont even mid the little bit of grain sweetness in here keeping it balanced, and bitterness is real low. overall this is super good, drinkable, and uniquely flavored, which seems like its hard to do in ipa anymore, its obvious this cryo hop blend has helped make this original, really cool stuff. props to payette for a really delicious ipa here, a style bender in a good way, east coast juiciness with west coast clarity, yum!

Draft at Payette. Golden pour, mild haze, small foamy white head. You can definitely pick up the cryo hops in the aroma, even moreso in the taste. Sharp, hoppy bite and a bit dry.
