cold ipa done with reubens, fun brew, the style is hot right now, and even though this one has been out a little while and seems to be tailing off a bit, its still cool beer. nice golden clear color to it, an airy white inch of head from the pint can, and lots of rising bubbles. a little soapy in the nose, some candied lemon too, lemongrass, green melon, and a sort of generic citrus thing too, some very light oxidation and a little something less than perfectly clean and dialed in on the ferment, almost a stressed lager yeast note, but i think this was done with a cooler temperature ale yeast, as are most examples of the style, dont know for sure, something just a little off, could just be that its a few months old, but its there in the taste too. fortunately the hop profile is awesome and it rises well above that little zizzle. candied orange peel, melon rind now, a flash of honey sweetness, and some neat minerals underneath it all. modern and pretty light, close to exceptional, which i tried it brand new, but at the very least its nice to see some new beers from payette, sometimes things can stagnate a bit over there.

Very pale straw, poured from the can with almost no head; clear as a pilsner. Light bready, hoppy, earthy notes, crisp palate that finishes clean and very refreshing. Does not lead or lean into the hop profile; rather this a very balanced IPL that seems to be a crusher for warm days.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Pale golden, almost clear, thin head. Light hoppy, malty aroma. Taste brings in a little sweetness, mild hoppiness, bready, a bit dry. Simple IPA, not overly hoppy.
