Melvin Brewing in Alpine, Wy and Payette Brewing Co. in Boise, ID joined forces for a collaboration brew with a Kung Fu kick of character.
This IPA is intensely packed with hops that create a dynamic balance of complementary flavors of tropical pineapple and guava, with a punch of citrus and pine notes.

Taste- Moderately astringent, underripe guava, very pithy, woody clementine/pineapple finish.
Feel- Between thin and medium body, moderate astringency, low bitterness, average carbonation, soft, mildly mouth watering finish.
Overall- Moderately astringent NEIPA with flavors and bouquet of underripe fruit.

collaboration with melvin, and the hop profile rules, as we all knew it would with melvin involved, but it is also pretty flat, which really hurts it from me, thick yellow starchy from the tap with absolutely zero head, and even though there is a little carbonation in it at first, its heavy because of how minimal it is, and by the second half of the glass its near still, really not the right feel for these delicious bright summery hops, a miss for me, maybe its better in the cans? a shame because the hops pop, meyer lemon freshness, mango and tangerine summery juiciness, and something i cant quite place, fresh flowers or something, polleny and blooming and definitely casting spring and summer vibes, a little lime maybe too, really appealing, and the taste is as pungent and radiant as the nose, big dry hop character, but no drop off in the flavor at all, a hint of passion fruit now, guava, sweet orange, over ripe cantaloupe, and more lush cut flowers. its almost instantly heavier than i want it to be, partially due to the lack of bubbles but also its just got a lot of body, wheaty and maybe oats too, more than these hops need, and it makes this dense and slow to drink. they really could have stood to drop some grain out of here, the flavors want higher consumption rate and volume, but the texture denies it. still, its solid beer, more modern than anything payette ever seems to do on their own, but a couple of tweaks away from excellence despite the hops already being great...

16oz can, pours a hazy orange-ish yellow with a medium off-white head. Straight-forward nose and palate with some grapefruit, pine, grass, orange/citrus, smooth palate, light/moderate prickly bitterness.

Draft at the Taphouse. Hazy yellow with a creamy white head. Dry hoppy aroma, spruce. Taste is bready, lemony, citrus, grapefruit. Citrusy with a piney edge. Finishes dry, bitterness lingers.
