Stopped in tonight specifically to pick this one up... $5 for a chub fill, pretty fair price. Poured into my HotD goblet... long lasting khaki head.. great retention and lacing... the brew is hazed chestnut brown.
Nose is pretty nice.. dark toasty malt... crisp brown maltiness.. not sweet just good "brown" malt presence.. hoppiness strikes me as a sorta pithy citrus.
Good flavor across the board mirrors the aromas.. a lingering hop bitterness combines great with a dry "just shy of roasty" malt finish.. the brown ale qualities never verge on chocolate malt, but there is a dry cocoa/sorta husky maltiness...
Body is a solid medium with a good carbonation and sorta slick mouthfeel.. rye malt?
Very well done... This one should see the inside of a Payette can.
