"All the malt is smoked over pecan wood." Beautiful auburn coppery color in the pilsner glass. Just a wisp of foam but plenty of carbonation in the mouth.

You wouldn't confuse this with a Rauchbier, but it does have a fragrant and tangy smoky hint. The brewer calls it a lightly smoked English Brown. The 23 IBUs are not very detectable, and it seems like the smoke is what contributes to the slight bitterness.

Warm and a little sweet. Even maltier than the modest alcohol content would suggest. A pleasant quaff with rich nutty flavors. This one was quite popular at the Copper Kettle brewpub with the aroma of English Goldings wafting from the brewing vessel where a Russian imperial stout was underway.
