July 6th, 2015 - I'm no longer living in Denver, but it seems to me that Copper Kettle is an understated operation out in a quiet corner of Aurora/Westminster. Today's entry from them is the Naja, a thick and soupy beer with a mulched leaf sort of color and light brown head. The nose has a bit of fresh glue to it and some wood, along with the peeled skin of pineapple. A sweet woodiness, if you will. Heavy on the flavor, the Naja gives leather and bourbon barrel, though not direct bourbon tastes. Pumpkin flavor appears in the mid to late taste and then transforms into notes of roasted pumpkin seeds, which last long into the aftertaste. A slow, peeking alcohol burn appears somewhere in the beginning of each sip and slowly intensifies to a noticeable degree in the aftertaste before retreating again. It's a great beer, both subtle and flavorful at the same time.

22 oz. Bomber
Poured into a tulip a pretty nice dark translucent red color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, some citrus. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with some citrus. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.
