Malt bomb. Smells hoppy with obvious caramel tones. Rich and deep to look at but getting to sip on this was another story. It's a big beer, alcohol is not really well hidden and hops overpowered by the huge malty backbone. It's not well balanced in my opinion, I struggled to finish this. just not my jam

On tap at the Copper Kettle. Dark reddish-brown and cloudy with a decent head. Smell is super hoppy but has a malt aspect as well, enticing. The flavor has a very strong bitterness on the finish that I enjoyed. A good mix between malt and hops, this could almost be called a double IPA but I see why they call it an Imperial Red Ale. Good stuff.
