Another of the very pleasant lower alcohol brews these guys keep coming up with. Looks exactly like a blonde, with the golden amber color. Served in a pint nonic with a modest foam, but a sparkling mouthfeel.
Some earthy flavors along with the fragrant vegetal taste. It's not very strong with basil. Brewer says it's made with both fresh and dried basil, but it's not pungent at all. The tangy taste is just right, not too sharp, and it's a refreshing sort of brew.
Aroma of herbal tea and malt, but I couldn't recognize it as distinctly basil. Slight hoppy bitterness (22 IBU) complements the leafy notes. Highly drinkable and refreshing. On tap at the brewpub.

Appearance: Goldenstraw color, cloudy and modestly capped; no lacing
Smell: Bready with a hint of basil
Taste: Tastes much like it smells, though the basil is a bit more clearly discernable; starts and finishes pretty much the same
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation; a bit flabby when it should be crisper
Overall: The basil adds a nice dimension but the beer should be light and refreshing; a bit more carbonation would go a long way here
