Look - poured from a 500ml glass bottle into a standard pint glass. amber in color, cloudy, and a small head that mostly dissipates, leaving behind trace lacing.
Smell - malts with some yeast, similar to a witbier. a bit of caramel/brown sugar, but subdued.
Taste - moderate to strong malt flavor backed up by tannins. caramel sweetness and dried fruits are both distinctively present. the beer has a taste profile almost similar to a bock. finish is dry.
Feel - medium bodied, high carbonation, and relatively low ABV at 5% for the style.
Overall - an oddly (and surprisingly) interesting beer. it's nowhere as hoppy as a normal red/amber lager, and the smell and flavor profile each go in a different direction. at the end of the day though, it's an easy to down, fairly refreshing wheat (barley? the name and ingredient suggest different things) lager with some interesting characteristics that's worth pondering on.
