A variation on our George Hunter Stout. We added cocoa nibs and lactose to give our stout a sweeter, more chocolately finish.

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'CANNED ON 11/02/22'.
Cola, ruby brown colored body. Three fingers of fizzy tan head disappears in about a minute, leaving an moderately active surface storm. No lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts and dark chocolate.
Taste is roasted malts and dark chocolate. Some char and bitterness. Brief hint of citrus and stone fruit such as apricots. Somewhat sweet throughout. Chocolate lingers in the aftertaste.
Less than medium mouth feel. Slight touch of syrup. Good carbonation.
Tasty sweet stout with heavy dark chocolate flavor. ABV% is well hidden.

12oz can from the 2022 Wintery Mix variety pk into a nonic pint glass.
L: Pours black w a 2" tight khaki head w good retention to a thick skin, no visible carbo, minimal lacing.
S: Dark chocolate, raisins, dark moist bread, fruit cake, prunes, cocoa, distant smoke.
T: Follows nose aspects along w dark fruits, toast crust, red grape, toasted caramel malts, moderately sweet, a very light suggestion of citrus zest, bittersweet chocolate dances, subtle earth & smoke in the background.
F: Lightly sharp then smooth med to med-heavy body w a short return of fruity sharpness within its med-length slightly dry finish.
O: An excellent tasting and easy drinking 8% ABV American chocolate Stout. Extremely well-hidden alcohol as I do not detect a trace. Well balanced bittersweet chocolate flavors and low lactose effect. I will buy this again. It is very good to excellent in style.

Very similar to the original George Hunter stout. In fact, the chocolate aspect tastes the same. Slightly bitter on the aftertaste and you can really detect the extra alcohol. Good, but I was hoping for a little more.

Dark brown / cola black in color, topped with a dark tan head. Abundant lacing.
Sweet chocolate and malt on the nose, and with a touch of lactic tang to give you an idea of what awaits.
Chocolate across the palate from the get-go, with more than a touch of bitterness to counterbalance the rich, decadent sweetness. Bitterness lingers nicely, in fact, and complements the easily (“dangerously”) drinkable nature of this one.
Rather smooth, velvety smooth mouthfeel, and at 8% it will be slam able to the unwary.
A sipper, in my mind, and a very good complement to the original brand.

This one came with a mixed 12-pack. Even though it says 'Dark Chocolate' I'm picking up a milk chocolate sweetness. Tons of chocolate and coffee. Very smooth and clean - at 8% it tastes like 5%
