A very nice beer that reminds me of a combination of a Belgian wit beer and ale.

Nice light (naked) appearance served in a pilsener glass

aroma and taste of clove, nutmeg, Belgian yeast and slight fruit/citrus. Not a strong, in your face flavour but very enjoyable, all the same, and a beer you could drink multiple times in an afternoon.

On Tap at Young and Jacksons in Melbourne.

A: Served a hazy pale golden color with a decent head and some lacing.

S: Aroma of banana with a bit of citrus and fresh grain.

T: Taste is of banana , a bit of citrus and fresh grain. Finish is a bit sweet and sticky.

F: Light body, smooth and a bit too sweet.

O: Decent beer but a bit too sweet for more than one. This is not really a Pale Ale as listed but a unfiltered wheat beer with banana. This is per the bartendeder at the Young and Jackson's. Also the beer is brewed by Matilda Bay (CUB).

Pours a golden colour, excellent head. Very Belgian appearance, excellent. Cloudy but lighter towards the bottom.

Smells wheaty and light, slight fruit characters but largely earthy and interesting.

Tastes really rather light, almost vaccuous. Very dry mouthfeel which I can't say I like. There is slight fruit on the front palatte but yes, it is slight and following that there isn't much of an aftertaste. Although there is a bitterness, it's like the mouthfeel saps a lot of the flavour out of the palatte.

Young and Jacksons is located on the corner of Flinders St and Swanston St in Melbourne Australia. They are famous for their painting of "The Chloe".

If you ever get the chance, the pub also has a beer which can only be bought on tap called the Naked ale. In refference to "The Chloe" which is a painting of a naked woman. (some say she was a nun)

Anyway:
The coulour is of a light amber, with a small amount of head which quickly dissapates. The beer gives off a slight hoppiness fragrance.

The taste, is what differs this beer to others. It has a bitter kick, which then mellows out with a malt centre. The beer, then rounds off with a nutmeg finish.

The beer isnt too carbonated which is good and not too expensive. I reccommend that you give it a try if you are ever in Melbourne.
