pours a hazy amber body with a fluffy frothy tanned cream head that has moderately high retention that leaves blotches of lacing as it settles to a half-finger froth cap
thick and pungent citrus and pine hop aroma with a little booze heat and malty sap coming off the sides
follows the nose, sticky resinous pine forward, then pungent lush grapefruit, with a slap of sweet thick and sappy malt
moderate carbonation, medium-thick body. subs dry finish for a bitter resinous booze heat finish.
overall:
looked great, smelled great, tasted great initially, but then the finish and overall mouthfeel began to bug me. subbing in booze heat for an IPA finisher just felt wrong to me, especially given that it wasn't even particularly high abv (8.8 - felt like 11). i did however keep coming back happily to get that initial hit of hop/malt nirvana, and felt myself taking major whiffs before every single sip just to live in it a little longer.

Pours a very cloudy dark honey color.
A small head with little lacing.
Aroma is definitely citrusy and piney, but quite subtle.
Mouthfeel is good.
Taste is standard double IPA, with the citrus, pine, and hops coming through with a bit of boosiness due to the 8.8% alcohol.
Overall, not a bad double IPA.
