808’s is the first entry in 3 Stars Brewing’s ‘90s Hip-Hop Car Culture series. The 8% double IPA is double dry-hopped with Amarillo, Azacca, and Simcoe lupulin powder. Like most 3 Stars double IPAs, it’s brewed with pilsen malt and some red wheat.

On tap:
Pale golden, near crystal clear body with a soapy head and striated lacing.
Nose has a light grain backbone to pithy/herbal/grassy (in descending order) hop notes. A deeper inhale brings a little cat pee, maybe a hint of onion. Taste, which seems especially influenced by the smell, is a pretty dank citrus IPA with a little underlying honey malt sweetness.
A fairly classic sweet malt DIPA balanced with some dank hops, quite enjoyable.

A: The beer is slightly hazy pale yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high fluffy white head that never completely faded away.
S: Light to moderate aromas of limes and gooseberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of gooseberries and limes with additional hints of pine towards the finish. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a pleasant amount of crispness and hides its alcohol very well from the taste.
Serving type: can

Pours yellow with some chill haze, white head that stick around, good lace
Intense pineapple aroma, some mango and dank
More pineapple hop flavor. A little bit of sweet malt, but it's all about the pineapple-y hops (Denali?)
I could stand for it to be a little bit more crisp
If you like pineapple, this beer is for you.
