"Is that champagne?", a woman in the checkout line asked. The bottle was corked, so the question was pertinent. The dark green bottle once contained 12.7 fluid ounces of this ale. Now it rests stilly in a clear Imperial pint glass. There's no head, nor expectations of glass lacing. There is a wonderfully aroma of soured fruit to be had. The color is a translucent light amber, but that's usually what wild ales bring. This goes down oh! so nicely. It's a bit like a Petrus Pale Ale Light. There's an oakiness behind the tart sour and it's a welcome addition. Like many great sours, this flows down the esophagus far too easily for the drinker's own good. What ABV? No, it's not champagne. It's better than some of them.
