Very nice head production and good retention.
Cola-like nose: prunes, spicy phenols. Nothing that speaks to the flavor additives, and nothing that really speaks to a stout. Blind, I'd guess this is a Dubbel.
Relatively thin on the palate, given the style and ABV. Similar to the nose, there just isn't much stout here. There's a nice roasty and slightly charred finish, not unlike Guinness, but it's mostly thin and fairly basic. For better or worse, there isn't much influence from cinnamon buns or cinnamon pretzels, although there is a salty kick that really lingers on the back end.
If you are hoping for a thick, rich, pastry stout: don't. If you are hoping for a sweet dessert stout: don't. If you're looking for an OK beer: ehhh, go for it.
