The last installment in our dive into English style beers, this English Barleywine was brewed with Maris Otter and small amounts of Crystal malts for added depth. Sweet toffee, Graham crackers, biscuits, and raisin on the nose, with warm bready malt along with plum, caramel Rolo's and some super fun yeast driven fruitiness from a traditional English Ale yeast. Hints of floral spice, intensely complex and layered, but very drinkable, it's a wonderful slow sipper that opens up as it warms up and really brightens some really rad malt driven flavors.

Light reddish-brown, some haze, minimal khaki head, poor retention and slippery lace
Aroma is dope! Dried fruit, toasted nuts, slight cocoa, caramel, and brown bread
Tastes a lot like it smells, sorta like a good homemade fruitcake without the booze soak, not as sweet though
Heavy bodied but clean, appropriately carbonated on the lower end
Can't wait to try another can next winter, maybe it will have dropped clear by then
Updated rating on 5/29/23- it has dropped clear, still not much in the way of head, though. Flavor has mellowed and meshed a bit better as well.
