Rye gose brewed with Dr. Stephen Jones of Oliver Ales. This beer was soured with lactobacillus and as a result is a deliciously tart and unique session beer with pronounced notes of citrus, coriander, and sourness. This beer is easily one of the most interesting and creative releases of the season. Super small batch yield, so get it where and when you can.

From 04/26/13 notes. Had this on tap at RFD; served in a tulip.
a - Pours a hazy medium amber color with two inches of white head and low to moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of citrus, hay, lemon, rye, mustiness, and earthy notes. Kind of reminds me of that Lemon scented Pledge you use on wooden tables. Not very good and no salt.
t - Tastes very strongly of sour lemons and citrus, earthy notes, hay, pine, alcohol, and some rye. Again, reminds me of what I'd imagine lemon pledge or pinesol would taste like. Some light salt in the aftertaste. Worse than the nose; not a fan of this one at all. Way too much sour lemon.
m - Medium body and moderate to high carbonation.
o - Overall I was not a fan of this one at all. I love sour beers and like goses, but this one didn't do it for me. Some rye and a TON or sour lemons, but not in an enjoyable or balanced way. Two of us ordered this and neither of us could finish a full glass. Would not recommend.

Soured with lactobacillus.
On draft at Smoke and barrel in D.C.
the beer has a cloudy apricot appearance with a sliver of head that fades rapidly to nil. the aroma brings stone fruits, salt, earthy tones, and prominent lactobacillus. The flavor is sea salt and sourness with a heavy puckering effect. A lot of flavor packed into a 2% abv beer. Salty crackers with a touch of citrus and aggressive sourness. Light to medium in body with moderately low carbonation. I really enjoyed this one.
