Surprisingly impressive attempt at the classic French style. If you ask me, this may be MC's best beer (although their sublime brandy barrel aged tripel is also of note).

 

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, strong yeast, slight bread dough, slight dark citrus, hint of roasted malt, and a hint of hop. Fits the style of a Biere de Garde. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, strong yeast, slight bread dough, hint of roasted malt, hint of hop, and slight floral notes. Overall, decent appearance, good aroma, body, blend, feel, and complexity.
