Received from @Harrison8 (the BA formally known as @THSdrummer) in NBS BIF #5.
Canned 12/13/16. Stored at 42 degrees. Served at 50 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – malt and dark chocolate initially; as it warms, bourbon begins to shine.
Head – average (Maximum 3.8 cm, aggressive pour), light brown, dense, creamy, average retention, diminishing to a dense three to four mm ring and a nearly complete thin layer.
Lacing – none.
Body – dark brown/black, opaque.
Flavor – Initial swilling shows a mild bourbon taste. Allowing the brew to warm in my mouth reveals flavors of burnt sugar and toffee as well as numbing my tongue. No hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl. Moments after swallowing, gastic warming begins.
Palate – medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
A very pleasing porter, lighter than a stout, and easy to “accidently” drink several of, leading to inertness.
Appearance 3.75, Aroma 4.25, Flavor 4.25, Palate 4, Overall 4.

Poured out a jet-black color with a small tan head of foam. It smelled of bourbon and sweet malt. Big, boozy flavor with caramel, toffee and chocolate. Strong bourbon presence, too.

L- very dark brown not quite as dark as a stout, brown sugar head laces the glass.
S- smells fantastic, coffee, leather, tobacco and dark fruit.
T-follows nose, no one flavor is overwhelming. The bourban barrel offers a subtle bourban flavor and a hint of vanilla. Bitterness only offsets light sweetness.
F- medium body that suggests a lower abv.
O-Another great offering from MCBC.
