Draft pour into a pub glass.
Pours black with a finger of khaki head. Head retention is fair with minimal lacing left behind. Aroma is light bodied, with small hints of chocolate, and nutty malts. Flavor profile has a more dark, flavorful presence to it with notes of chocolate and coffee showing up, particularly as the beer finishes. Additional notes of nutty and biscuit malts. Mouth feel is thin, but with a good presence - i.e. not watery. Overall, a flavorful black kolsch. It offers up some of the hallmark notes of a quality dark beer without delivering a noxious dose of alcohol or being overly thick, meaning this beer could pair well with a meal when you fear you may get too full or consume too many calories.
