this is probably the best wild type i have had from martin city, an amazing beer with spectacular label art as well. its deep pink on the pour, not super lively, but with a gorgeous almost stained glass looking bright complexion to it from the fruit, lightly frosted with some haze. aroma here is mouthwatering to the max, tantalizing with the tartness and freshness of all these raspberries, a light funk and a citric wild acidity, united by the oak, and just bursting with these raspberries, so summery and natural and huge in here. the flavor is raspberry driven, juicy at first, tangy for sure, less sweet where they normally would be as the bacterial sourness arises and combats that at the perfect instance. i get a flash of red wine and oak tannins, i get a little of the fruit sweetness, lemon rind, and this incredibly vibrant almost living floral element in the fruit as well. this is among the very best of the martin city stuff i have had, and while i think it could use a bit more carbonation, the flavors here are amazing and the raspberries with the funky and souring yeasts is a wonderful fusion here, unique from other raspberry sours, and something not to be missed!

Pours a flat pink with the same hue as Gatorade's Strawberry drink. Only a few bubbles on top, that pop and disappear quickly. Aroma is raspberry, raspberry, and raspberry. Flavor profile is the same with a solid barrage of raspberries hitting the tongue. It's tart and sour, and yet still retains a sweet edge. Mouth feel is thin and otherwise unremarkable. Overall, raspberry notes are jiving in this one. Pardon the pun. It is tasty though.

Served in a teku glass.
