Like a long sleeve shirt on a crisp Fall morning, the malted, sweet, toasty aroma pairs perfectly with the cool air and the caramel and nutty chocolate flavor bring to mind the changing color of the trees. It’s Fall in a beer, and we all know Fall is the best season.

Clear dark brown color with a modest tan head with bits of lacing.
The aroma is toasted malt, caramel with a hint of coffee.
The taste is toasted bread, caramel, hickory nuts, chocolate and coffee. The body is medium, good carbonation level, smooth and very drinkable. Altogether, this is a pretty decent brown ale, malty and toasty, good for cool fall weather, should go well with hearty fare, well done.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden brown color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of toffee, caramel and subtle hints of coffee. Sweet toffee taste with toasted caramel and a mild coffee-like bitterness.

Pours a dark brown that only lets light filter around the thing edges of the glass. Head formation is a finger in height, khaki in color, and has modest retention with a dense, foamy ring lingering for a while. Aroma is toasted, nutted, biscuit, and bread malts. There is a kiss of caramel, but otherwise it's smooth, semi-bitter malts. Flavor profile is dense malts, which form a much more smooth dynamic than the aroma lets off. Toasted, nutted, biscuit, breaded, and caramel malts all meld together to form a splendid, smooth malty display. It's approachable, and rewards each sip. Mouth feel is a slight velvetiness that only gets broken up by a light fizz on the front of the tongue. It has a medium-thick consistency, lending itself to being a great sipper on a cool fall evening in the Midwest. Overall, a solid brown ale that does well to create a flavorful, malt dynamic.
Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz can.

i look forward to a brown ale the most in the autumn, when leaves are changing, days are getting crisper, and the clouds roll in. i find them to be a perfect seasonal transition, and this is a well made beer that gives me that childish excitement for the fall season. its nutty and light in the malt, not so sweet or heavy in the chocolate malt, but round in feel, layered in flavor, and drinkable as can be at such a low abv and with such nice carbonation. this is also what i look for more and more in seasonal beer, not some squash or molasses or mulling spices or anything, just a style of beer that fits well with the season, not needing to rely on a bunch of additives to make it applicable. there is some good bitterness on the back end here, hops and lightly roasty malt as well, and it finishes on the drier side with a big wash of carbonation. crisp is not a word i normally associate with a brown ale, but this one is just that. hearty enough for the season, a nice drinker too though, mild maple and cocoa notes, a morning beer vibe, i want to go put on a flannel and split and stack some firewood with this one...
