Pours black with two fingers of khaki foam that retains well, leaving behind a light swirling of lacing. Aroma is coconut from the moment the can is cracked open. Coconut is followed by butter, toffee, and roasty and toasty malts. It smells sweet, bordering on a dessert level of sweetness. Flavor profile is coconut layered with molasses, toffee, and caramel and roasty and toasty malts. Balance leans heavily towards sweet, with coconut notes coming off cloyingly sweet and artificial. It lands firmly in the 'dessert' category for flavor profile. Mouth feel carries a touch of fizziness, but breaks apart to reveal a lightly creamy texture. It has a medium thickness. Overall, huge coconut notes for this one with a bit of stout behind.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz can.

 

12 ounce can. Pours almost black with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and coconut. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, coconut, and some coffee. Mild bitterness. Pretty good.
