I fell in love with Gose during a visit to Goslar which opened my eyes to the world of sour beers. I have only found one local brewery that does Gose right (Trois Mousquetaires) but it is seasonal. I went into a good shop looking for some but they're sold out, saw this one and tried it. I already love the Blanche by Brasseurs du Monde (and some others are not bad). This however is on another level! A lovely surprise, basically a smoked Gose without all the salt. I really dig this and will be picking up more. Smoke flavour is fairly prominent but I like that as some smoked beers are too subtle.

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color beer with a medium size off-white foamy head with medium retention and some light lacing. Aroma of smoked malt notes with light caramelized malt notes. Taste is a mix of light caramelized malt notes with some smoked malt and some tart notes. Body is light with good carbonation. Interesting mix of smoked malt with light tart notes.

Really nice looking beer. Light golden color with lots of carbonation and a 1-finger thick white head with lots of small bubbles.
In the nose you get some woody and smoky aromas as well as some tartness. Kind of a weird smell though.
In the mouth it's really good though. It starts with lots of acidity and sourness then a smoky flavor arrives. The sourness being always present in the background so once the smoke dissipate the finish become once again acidic.
Nice mouth feel, but I would've taken a little bit more carbonation, especially by the way it carbonates in the look.
Overall it's a really really nice beer that combines two of my favorite styles, Sour beers and Smoked beers. I will, without any hesitation, try every Lichtenhainer beer that cross my path!
