Appearance: No head and thus no lace or retention to speak of. The body is a deep brow with some small bits of yeast floating in the thick body, but not so thick to hide the solid stead carbonation.
Smell: Overwhelming plum, molasses and hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Warming really helps out it's case in this regard.
Taste: In a word, rich. Beautifully balanced toffee malt comes forward which then turns to a rich plum, date and fig taste that is dusted off with a spicy cinnamon note and a touch of earth and floral hops and a little bit of an unwelcome boozy note, but it's minor.
Mouthfeel: Excellent transitioning between flavours, and the carbonation helps out the entire beer, but seems a bit lacklustre. The aftertaste doesn't linger overtly so and is that rich plum note that is the finest part of the beer.
Drinkability: Medium bodied, but refreshing and easy to drink. Settles down exceptionally well and the low carbonation leaves me happy. Rich flavour but not trying to over complicate things.
Final thoughts: That's really the key to this beer, where I find so many Belgian beers fail. This beer doesn't try to paint a portrait as vivid or masterful as the likes of the Trappist offerings, that so many producers simply fail to duplicate. It is because of that, it focuses on rich flavours of which it accomplishes with exception. It's no La Fin Du Monde, and no Trappist beer, but what it is, is my 2nd highest ranked Quad to date. Thumbs up.

Strong prunes, dates, figs, and raisins flavor that is a bit disturbing at first. Strong presence of alcohol that hit you halfway through. It's a very sweet beer that is not for everyone. Drinking a whole pint is a bit too much but if you want to get drunk, this is the way to do.

Appearance: It has a nice brownish/red color to it. It has a nice thick beige head that dies down moderately and leaves great lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of molasses, sweet caramel, Belgian candi sugar and sweet dark fruit (raisins and dark berries mostly).
Taste: Like the aromas, it has some sweet molasses and caramel upfront, candi sugar, sweet berries, some raisins and a slight earthiness.
Mouthfeel: It has a low/medium carbonation with nice overall balance and feel but the taste is a bit too sweet.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas.

Appearance - Hazy brown colour with an average size frothy beige coloured head. There is a low amount of carbonation showing and there is some fair lacing. The head lasted for around 5 minutes before it was gone.
Smell - Malts, caramel/molasses, dark fruits, an earthiness
Taste & Mouth - There is a below average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, caramel, and dark fruits. There is also an earthiness and some spice along the lines of clove. It ends with a sugary sweet dark fruit aftertaste.
Overall - An interesting taste for sure, lots going on. A little too much winter spice flavour though, it's almost like a christmas seasonal beer. And the sweetness wears on a bit after a while.

Aroma is of fig, black cherries, and plum. Very complex.
Taste is sweet upfront, but the alcohol dries out the finish to make it rather well balanced.
The mouthfeel is smooth, slightly tannic, but very pleasent.
Overall, this is a great beer. Definitely worth seeking out when you are in Quebec.

A - Poured a dark cola like brown with a half cm tan head. Head reduced to a long lasting ring with some surface bubbles and a bit of lacing.
S - Molasses, roasted malts, spices, dark fruits. Reminds me of raisin gingersnap cookies. As it warms up I can almost smell some pumpkin.
T - Holy this is sweet. Brown sugar, molasses, caramel, burnt sugar, dried fruit, some hops are just noticeable in the finish and just a hint of booze. The alcohol is getting masked by all that sweetness.
M - Medium carbonation, medium-heavy body, syrupy. sticky, a hint of heat in the finish.
O - Good stuff. Be warned, this one is quite sweet.

Smells of sweet sugared dates, candied raisins, cloves and toffee.
Taste follows the nose. Very rich and quite sweet. Tons of candied dark fruits, copious clove, burnt caramel, faint toffee and a kick of booze.
Medium full feel with a strong, tight carbonated fizz. Long clove and sweet raisin jam aftertaste.
A bit of a departure from what I'm used to in a quad. The cloves play nicely off of the sweet dark fruit but it's missing something to keep things in balance.

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of sweet candi sugar with fruity ester and some candy-like notes with deep fruit cake malt notes. Taste is a good balanced mix between some fruity ester with loads of candy ester and some solid fruit cake malt notes with an unfortunate overly sweet finish. Body is average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. This is a very good beer with nice level of complexity but unfortunately it lacks some attenuation and is too sweet for its own good.
