Wrecking Bar Brewpub "Wazzu West Coast Pilsner"
16 fl. oz. can, "Canned: 2/20". Sampled on 03.13.2026
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is labeled at 4.6% ABV. It's poured a clear golden body beneath a tall head of bright white foam. The aroma says Cascade hops to me but I might be wrong. There might also be some Hallertauer Mittelfruh and Saaz as well. It's floral and citrusy. The taste delivers Pilsner malt that's sweetish, grainy, and a bit grassy unless that's the hops. It remains floral and citrusy, and then it's a little spicy in the finish. A firm bitterness balances it nicely and it finishes dry with some bitterness lingering. I was expecting more Pacific Northwest hops seeing as how it's labeled as "West Coast" but it's actually very German tasting to me. In fact, I remember tasting a beer like this at Giesinger Bräu in München. It's delicious! To wrap up then, it's medium bodied and crisp, and really well-balanced all around. I could drink this every day for the rest of my life and still want more after I've passed.
