brewed with three heads, this is a cleanish belgian saison with hibiscus, not my favorite beer we had in here, not by a long shot, but pretty tasty for the summer. its a little maltier than i love these to be, some sweeter barley to it in front of the wheat to me, but it could be the sweetish hibiscus playing a trick on me. it has very little color from the flowers, which is the exception not the norm in my experience. the flowers are a bit more prominent in the nose than the flavor, seems almost like its too grainy for them to come all the way through. they add a fruity and tea-like pop in the center, but its short lived. there is a light ester profile to the yeast and even a faint twang to it, but its simple in this way, could be amazing with a mature brett refermentation, there seems enough residual sugar for that to be possible too, but i like its minimalist nature. i dont think it needs to be as strong as it is, especially for the summer, like this would have worked a little better in the 5% abv range. overall not bad, but a few tweaks away from being excellent.
