From a bottle, pours a hazy orange dark copper color with a fizzy head.
The nose is crystal malt, rye, sweet orange, and very earthy grains, wheat. The flavor is all rye and crystal malt, lots of caramel and dark malt. The finish comes together to linger a bit, clean but bitter. The alcohol is present and coupled with the rye, makes it a bit astringent.
Overall, this is good, not great, but interesting and always nice to try a good rye beer.
