On tap at brewery:
Pour is a little hazy, almost cloudy. Color is yellow-golden, head is fluffy white, fading eventually to the edges only, leaving a medium ring against the glass. Lacing is non existent in this pour, but a quick swirl brings a film of head to the surface that fades slowly.
Nose is pretty much in line with the style, but simple and a tad weak. Phenols and yeast are noticed, with a pear and banana fruitiness.
Taste brings pears, apples, hints of peach. These are replace fairly quickly by herbal notes and eventually a farmhouse funk (horse blanket?). The alcohol does come through just a tad as well, adding to the flavor as well as a bit of spice to the feel. This feel is the weak point to me; it's a tad watery, and the carbonation doesn't appear to hold up as well as I'd expect, noticeable lightly up front but nonexistent in the back.
There was some nice flavors here, but I think they needed a crisper feel to really shine. I wouldn't shy away from this again, but won't seek it out, either; might be a brewery only purchase.
