A: This poured a hazy gold with moderate white head.
S: It smelled like funky horse blanket and fresh hay, with some grassy hops and spicy yeast and sour oak.
T: It tasted like fresh wheat and hay and funky horse blanket, with some tart apple cider vinegar and sour oak. It had a clean sour aftertaste.
M: It was watery with lots of carbonation. Nice and bubbly.
D: This was a very nice sour ale with delicate and complex scent and taste that was juicy and delicious. The body was fitting, and the finish was relatively smooth. So it was fairly easy to drink, but better to sip. Age may help, buy it doesn't really need it. Solid brew.

Bottle with date of 10/15/2013, which I believe is "into barrel" date:
Appearance is mostly golden, but with an orangish hue. Head is actually quite fluffy and sustaining, but with minimal lacing. Nose is straight funky tart - sour milk in nature, than sour.
Taste is right instep with the nose, funky yogurt tartness. There is a woody taste, and a cheese curd like feel to the beer that comes along with this. Near the end a tart cherry sour bite spikes and disappears. I can seethe feelif a wet wood in the end feel, but until then, the carbonation nicely accompanies this, adding some bite to the pour.
Another decent offering in the sour realm for Lost Rhino. I'm interested in more offerings of this sort.
