Jan 2019 Batch is 6.1 ABV, 30 IBU This batch is smoother and sweeter than 2018, the krausened note of 2018 is gone. It appears to have less smoke, but it just could be the sweet Carmel malt flavor is strong making it seem that way.
Jan 2018 batch , 5.7 ABV, 24.5 IBU, You have let this beer warm up some for it to smooth-in out and then the flavors come out.
Nice dark amber color. Nice white head leaves some lacing.
Smell, I can't smell much today as usual
taste starts out with smoke, a somewhat bacony smoke. The smoke fades to a nice sweet caramel on the finish. There maybe a little hop notes half way thru. It almost seems like the beer was krausened, kind a odd, if you drink it too cold it will have a bite y pilsner flavor near the start. It's not a hardcore smoke bomb which ok with me
But Really it's a smokey caramel bock.

This beer pours a clear amber color. The head was one finger, and white and frothy.
The nose has got a light smoke aroma. Very pleasing.
The taste is very smoke forward, and lingers. It goes from the throat to the nose.
The feel is fairly full bodied.
I am a big fan of somked beers, and this is a good one. Glad I got it.

Had it on tap at Bernie's Tap Room in Wisconsin. Served in a 22 ounce Lazy Monk logo glass.
a - brownish with a tinge of red
s - Heavy malt with acidity popping out of the steady carbonation. Also roasted meat with a little smokiness
t - Heavy malt with some nice hoppiness to balance it out. Interesting hints of smoked bacon along with dried fruit . The smokiness fades into the background the more you drink.
m - Very full bodied with a fair amount of carbonation. This is a puzzler as to the amount of alcohol. Great session beer but the alcohol is not really noticeable with all this flavor. I would guess it is about 6.5% abv
overall - Great beer that I would make a special trip to seek out. Perfect paired with food especially barbecue, fried food or burgers.

Smoked Bock pours a dark reddish brown color, with a long lasting head. The smell is very smokey. The taste is very smokey, and has a meat like flavor, very similar to a smoked bacon, a bit salty. Good full flavor, very full bodied; not watery at all. Overall a very strong smoked beer, nothing crazy different but very strong example of this style.
