Served on-tap at 508 Gastrobrewery in New York, NY
A: Pours a hazy burnt golden orange in color with some light to moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and some apricot + peach highlights. The beer has a half finger tall foamy white head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pumpkin and butternut squash with light aromas of brown sugar, saison yeast spiciness, and just a hint of something herbal.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of pumpkin and butternut squash but without too much sweetness - light notes of the gourds having been roasted to bring out the flavors. There are some light notes of brown sugar and a light to moderate presence of spicy saison yeast. The beer also features moderate herbal notes (which I cannot determine even when seeing what they are from the menu).
M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: I enjoyed this beer because of the different herb/spices that are used over the traditional pumpkin pie spice flavors and when combined with the saison yeast makes it very interesting. The alcohol is well hidden and the beer is easy to drink. This is my favorite pumpkin beer that I have tried this fall. Definitely an unusual combination of herbs used in this beer - hibiscus, rosehip, blackberry leaves, and raspberry leaves.

A: The beer is hazy golden yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down and left some lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of pumpkin puree are present in the nose along with notes of brown sugar and hints of hibiscus.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but more complex with additional flavors of butternut squash and hints of herbs and spices.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a very interesting hybrid of a pumpkin ale, a herbed/spiced beer and a saison. It hides its alcohol very well and no traces are noticeable in the taste.
