Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass
From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $13.99 (w/ VONS card) for a variety 12-pack
Purchased: Oct. 18, 2013
Consumed: Oct. 18, 2013
Misc.: N/A
Poured a golden stray hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy white head. Nice amount of almost circular white foamy lacing along the sides. Very good retention all the way down.
Smelled lemon, Cascade hops, sour apple, kiwi, grape, grass hops, earthy, grainy notes and honey.
Tasted similar to the nose, which means nothing special. Got those earthy, grainy notes, honey, grassy hops, kiwi, sour grape, apple and pear.
Light body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation.
Light-to-medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish.
Just an average beer. I admired the sight, but that was about it.

The Double Take Belgium White is a decent beer. Very easy drinking and would be a great summer quaff. The beer poured a hazy yellow with a thin white head that is lacing nicely. There is a slight spice to the aroma, but not much else. The taste has a slight peppery lemon fling but very subtle. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a good beer and I could drink this as a session. It is very close to Blue Moon...I think I'll try with orange next time.
