Solidly stark used motor oil black with a fluffy light brown head dying off to a silky black surface.
The luscious, full body has a pillowy carbonation that lets loose all kinds of earthy mocha. It's chocolatey, but semi-bitter, and just perfectly so, even featuring little spicy biting accents. Ribbons of vanilla cream come with a little heat as it warms, amplified by the tingly numbing semi-dry finish.
The beans galore just have so much of that absolutely fresh coffee shop character, pairing perfectly with the mild savory roast of the malt.

poured from a 16oz can into a stemmed bulb glass. pours a dark but shiny dense black with a slight amount of mocha brown head. smells of chocolate, toffee, caramel and coffee. taste is similar with a pronounced chocolatey caramel flavor and a slight spiciness. i don’t know if the spiciness is a result of the barrel-aged beans or just the beans themselves but this is tasty. mouthfeel is typical perennial non barrel-aged base stout. that is to say on the thicker side with low carbonation and a sticky finish. this is a really good coffee stout. a little more complex and a bit less sweet than the other 2020 coffee stout. thoroughly enjoyed this one.
