Slightly hazy amber color with a modest but lasting white head and even some lacing.
The aroma is light caramel with hints of nuts or grain.
The taste is likewise light caramel malt with a more pronounced, almost almond like nuttiness presumably this is from the quinoa, very lightly sweet. The finish brings out some nice herbal notes with a very mild bitterness.
The body is light, good carbonation level, smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a pleasant and refreshing brew, the nutty notes adds a dimension to the usual lager routine, that I appreciate. This should work well with most food, particularly barbecue or other spicy fare and is well suited as a general purpose cooler, well done.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left some lace on the glass. It smelled of toasted caramel, biscuity malt and toffee. Sweet caramel taste with a malty finish.

pretty heady little rippable but nerdy lager here, my first from perennial in way too long. its brewed with quinoa, a grain i have often wondered about in beer but rarely seen, not sure if its malted or not, i would guess no, but anything is possible, its clever either way. this is blonde and modern and slightly hoppy, bright and fresh and easy drinking, with a pretty simple grain base to presumably let some quinoa character come through, although that aspect is admittedly light in this, maybe a little protein texture and pale nuttiness from it, but this presents as kind of basic on the malt side, the yeast is near neutral, and the bitterness is low. this has to be mostly dry hopped, i get lemon verbena citrus herbal character, a little green tea, and a slightly juicy middle, nothing even close to green or forced though, this is dry, smooth, bubbly, and exceedingly easy drinking, just interesting enough. these guys have a history of awesome lagers, and this one bangs too, i kind of wish the quinoa was more apparent, but i also like how light this is overall. slight crackery pils character, perhaps new zealand hops in it, nice water chemistry, drying minerality late, crisp but still wet and juicy from the hops. nice proportions and quality overall, im into it. seems like its made for spicy food.
