Tasted at the Perennial Artisan Ales dinner at Churchkey in D.C. Review from notes.

The beer is ruby hued with nary a trace of head. The aroma brings cherries (duh), brown sugar (?). A combination of sweet and sour, and a messy one at that. Muddled and unrefined. A bit thin and watery with an overall oddness about the whole beer. While BA Abraxas was the clear winner of the evening, this was the clear loser. Not so much.

Pours a bright red cherry red color without a head on it. Nose is grainy malts mixed with cherries and a touch of brown sugar. Opens up with sweet, bright cherries that pucker up the mouth immediately. These move on to some grainy malts mixed in with more sweet cherries. Mouth is smooth and full. Overall, this is a pretty good Kriek...good cherry flavors but still a lot of grain and a touch rough around the edges. Still pretty solid.
