This traditional belgian triple is light in body but not in potency. The term tripel was used in Belgium and the Netherlands to describe a strong ale. It is similiar to our Devil's Reach, but we are referring to it as our "Superbier."

I had this on draught at the brewery. It was served in a pint glass. It pours an amber-apricot color with virtually no head or lacing. The smell features the expected aromas of clove, coriander, and yeast, along with a rather subdued scent of cherry. The cherry is more evident in the taste, particularly at the finish, following a nice introduction of Belgian yeast and spices. This ale is medium-bodied, lightly carbonated, and the 10.3% ABV is potent. To me, Tripel Wreck is better paired with a meal than it is for casual drinking. It's nicely crafted and fun to drink.
