Formerly Citra Pale Ale
Smooth and hoppy, this ale is lighter in body than our IPAs but still loaded with Citra hops.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a golden orange color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Ruddy/messy sort of lace slides right on into the beer. The aroma takes some crisp sweet to bitter orange to lemon rind-like hops and melds to a semi-sweet malty caramel to toffee sort of blend. Toasted grain. The flavor tried to blend the hops to the malts but mostly comes apart and becomes sort of a free for all in the aftertaste unyielding to an unbalanced sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation feels fine. Manages to have a fair smoothness about it. Overall, decent as an APA, I could come back to if needed.

On tap in a pint glass.
Ultra-light straw color with a whit head, mostly film. Good sheet lacing, nicely carbonated, just a touch of haze.
Mostly tropical fruit and barely there citrus. No malt or alcohol to speak of.
The flavors do shine some. Lots of fruit with light biscuits.
Nicely carbonated light body. Little malt support for the hops, which do not hold on. Slightly watered down feel.
Despite my less than glowing review, it has enough hop character to fall back on if I cross its path again.

When this was poured for me (@ Newbold's South Philly Tap Room on 1/17/17) I thought I was about to drink a cider of some sort. Alas, I was wrong, as Tide Table is a pale ale through and through. The "crushable" billing the brewery gives this particular beer certainly makes some sense, even though it isn't my favorite offering from Cape May. Better than average, but nothing special.
