Originally brewed to celebrate Cape May County's 325th anniversary, we brew Follow the Gull with a ridiculous amount of Citra, El Dorado, Azacca, and Amarillo hops, yielding a juicy and ultra-drinkable hop-bomb bursting with tropical and citrus aromas. Though the anniversary has passed, we loved Follow the Gull too much not to brew it again.

16 ounce can in the recommended glassware, a nonic pint glass.
Unfiltered pale yellow colored liquid with a tall cloud of white froth on top. Durable head with sticky lacing.
Pineapple, mango, lemon-lime, and mint tea aromas.
There's a bit of citrus with the dominant tropical fruit flavor.
Light bodied and quite hoppy. Slightly harsh astringency in the finish. Juicy.
The modest abv and generous hopping carry the brew.

There was a big of weirdness to this one for me. Not your standard hazy, maybe it was a tropical hint yst just pushed this one too much for me. Jump on there "Always Ready" ibstead of this one.

Pours an almost lemonade color, not much foam, aroma is faint tangerine, a little dank pine, something pineapple, taste is a little light, a bit of citrus, little bit of hops, little aftertaste. A bit disappointed, wanted to like this more.

Cloudy light orange appearance.
Medium bodied as well as Medium carbonation.
Aroma is citrus fruit and peel, earthy hops, with a little bitter pine.
Taste was citrus fruit and peel upfront followed by citrus peel bitterness but not enough to wash out the rest of the flavors.
Very well done and an enjoyable beer

Had a few cans in LBI and they were a nice and enjoyable with basic looks, but enough citrus aromatics and flavor to keep my interest. Tasted of tangerine, grapefruit, orange peel, biscuit, light caramel, tropical fruit and a nice level of bitterness.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 4/15/21, so 2 months old.
Not a particularly good look here. Pale pineapple juice colored body. Small white head disappears almost immediately, hence no lacing. Carbonation bubbles can just about be seen popping on the surface.
Dull tropical fruit aroma.
On tasting, the hop profile used comes off as unpleasantly bitter. There are some tropical fruit notes, particularly pineapple. There is no discernable malt base for balance.
Mouth closer to full than medium, finish an unpleasant bitterness
Overall, not for me, and the strong non too nice bitterness made it impossible to finish.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $4.50. Canned on 4/13/2021, so this is being consumed at eight weeks minus a day.
Look: A quite hazy golden yellow color. No head retention. Moderately fizzy-looking with tiny bubbles quickly rising.
Looks refreshing.
Smell: Very nice aromas - smells very juicy with a bit of bitterness to balance. Lots of citrus aromas - mandarin orange peel, grapefruit, lemon zest. Other tropical fruit aromas like pineapple, mango, and nectarine. I also get a bit of creamy vanilla aroma, but this doesn't say that it has lactose....Back end of the nose has dankness and some gentle green notes.
Taste: Nice. More bitter than I was expecting from the nose. There is a lot of juiciness here, but it's not very sweet because there is plenty of balance with pithy bitterness. There is also a nice acidity here, which is probably part of the reason why there is no head retention. It's pretty straightforward with the taste - juiciness combined with a relatively soft mouthfeel and nice bitterness to balance. Other flavors that come through that weren't present in the nose are apricot and lots of citrus pith. Very drinkable and its impact is above its weight class at 5.5% ABV.
Feel: The mouthfeel is soft and refreshing. As this loses some of its carbonation, it gets a bit flabbly and loses its crispness so drink up!
Overall: It's good. Very nice summer offering. I like Cape May, and I have yet to try a Cape May beer that I like more than Always Ready. I'll keep trying though, they make good stuff!

Pours a very hazy and light pale straw color. No head retention, a little island of lacing here but really not much to speak of.
The smell is very prominent and good. Mostly citrus aromas, mainly orange and a touch of lemon/lime. I’m not great with naming tropical notes but I’d say definitely some pineapple is part of it.
Taste follows the nose very closely on this one. Definitely would go with pineapple as the main tropical flavor here too. Along with the same prominent citrus as the nose.
Mouthfeel is light with almost a prickly carbonation. A pretty soft feel to with a low to moderate very pleasant grapefruit bitterness.
I always enjoy this beer each year. It’s a nice hoppy drinkable beer.

Poured from the can into a nonik pint glass as directed! Born May 7th 2020.
Very bath-foamy looking with soapy pale ale like bubbles at a small two fingers and a quick dissolve. Body color is an opaque pale pineapple like yellow, no noticeable carbonation. Virtually no lacing.
Aroma is pleasant, and somewhat varied. Tropical and citrus notes, a sense of guava and pineapple juicy character is quite noticeable. Real noticeable character of mushy squashed over ripe fruit as well, but brings a bit of sugary sweetness in the mix too.
Palate brings things into simple territory. Light touching notes of juiced tropical hops, once again with pineapple and sort of mango/guava character kicking in also. There's some nice pithy citrus bitterness on the finish which creates a good citrus grapefruit bitterness that really lingers in kicks in hard. The body and malt backbone seems more in the pale ale realm, staying simple with an aromatic hop push than a powerful palate richness.
Fairly decent ipa, but seems a little dumbed down a bit. Almost hints at session like quality as well too.
Cheers!

Pale yellow in color with an orangish hue and an opaque unfiltered appearance. Poured with a short, bright white foam with low retention. Soft citrus aromas, over-ripe lemon and orange with a light malty note. Medium light bodied with medium light carbonatuon and a light smooth, creamy feel. Citrussy and fruit flavors with medium hop bitterness and a light malty base. Fruit, candied orange notes on the back end. Finished semi-dryly with a light fruity notes followed by mellow piney, lingering bitterness. Hop character was pleasant, but a bit subdued. Overall, very approachable
