Pop a pint can and you'll get the smell of a Orange Creamsicle. Pour the contents into a clear glass Imperial pint mug and you'll get an opaquely orange-amber colored liquid topped by a white head. It leaves scant glass lacing. It doesn't taste all that close to its intended mark. The orange isn't as pronounced to the taste as it was for the nose. The lactose adds some sweet stickiness, but nothing close to a creamy one. Even the added vanilla can't help that, although that taste also comes through. It's an IPA, so it has hops, although not overly bittering. They're more pronounced at the finish, which actually helps the overall taste, but takes it further from the target. The mouthfeel is smooth enough, with a reasonable body, but there's still that lactose stickiness. This is a nice try and not horrible. Although it doesn't mimick an orange ice cream twist very well, it's not a bad change of pace. The 7.7% ABV is nicely hidden, the added flavors aren't over the top, its body and mouthfeel are slightly above average and it's different.
