Emptying two twelve ounce cans into a clear glass liter mug, it looks like the typical adjunct American Lager. Maybe there's a little more carbonation. But, it doesn't smell like one. There's plenty of cinnamon and apple cider in the air. Still, it's a very pale and nearly translucent light and bright amber color to behold. There's almost no head at all. But, true to its name, it tastes like a fizzy apple pie, or cobbler. Probably more like the filling without the crust, as there's very little taste reference to anything bready. Applesauce might even be a better comparison. Yet, it's tasty. The spicing is sharp, but not overbearing. Even those that don't particularly like fruit in their beer could make an exception here, as it's that well made. The apple inclusion and spicing is pronounced, but delivered in a very tasteful way. There's no glass lacing and the little white head there was didn't last minutes. But, if you love the taste of spiced apples this is a must try. For an ale, the mouthfeel runs thinly, probably the cost of adding real apples to the wort. Still, this is a good spiced/flavored ale.
