Just as coastal storms unearth hidden secrets beneath the sands of Higbee Beach, a sip of Ghost Tracks will reveal a hazy, juicy brew that pays homage to our shore's history. This Double IPA, named after the buried train tracks in Cape May Point, is crafted with barley and Maris Otter malt, providing a crisp, clean malt profile with subtle hints of biscuit. Brewed and dry-hopped with Sabro and Nectaron hops to bring forth flavors of sweet, ripe peach, stone fruit, and zesty citrus, this beer is a balanced, mysterious brew that you'll want to revisit time and time again.

faded gold with a large white fluffy head. Excellent lacing.
Aroma is like a lovely, fresh peach.
Taste follows nose as the peach is up front. Added is a light hoppy wave of bitterness that quickly fades but performed its job of balancing the beer. No sign of the ABV.
Mouthfeel is good with strong carbonation. Finish has a light lingering bitterness that works well with the carbonation.
Solid drinking IPA that doesn’t overdo the fruit flavor.

Can dated 08-05-25 into pint glass. Pours a murky honey-gold color with a persistent and substantial fluffy white head. Initial impression is resinous citrus, with an interesting combination of malt sweetness and hops bitterness. Not sweet, and not boozy. (How did they do that??) Finish fades to a slightly dank bitterness. Overall, an excellent DIPA - Cape May has outdone themselves on this one!

It starts off with a foamy pour at room temperature to empty the entire contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. Although not heavy, there's definitely some peach aroma in the air. The off-white foam takes its time receding, doing so unevenly and unattractively. It sits on top of a dark and hazy apricot-amber colored liquid. Along with the peach, there's some starch and general citrus to smell. The peach inclusion doesn't overpower the overall taste and there's an unanticipated hop bite to be had. So, even if you'd prefer not to have some peach juice in your IPA, you may like this. The hops, somehow with the peach and citrus, give this a significant bitterness that's missing in far too many modern American IPAs. This would probably be a very good tasting IPA without the peach part, but it really doesn't hurt things and adds just a little extra to the taste. Certainly, the 8% ABV contributes to the bite, but not in a bad way. The mouthfeel is no less than acceptable for something this potent. Throughout, the glass lacing remains sporadic and mostly scant. But, overall, what makes this a good brew is that it's a solid IIPA, not some heavily fruited concoction.

Canned on 9/3/2024. Poured into a shaker glass. It's a dense, dirty orange color with over a finger cap of fluffy, bright white foam and copious, thick lacing that lasted through the pour. Lots of fragrant peach on the nose, aloyng with grapefruit, pineapple, and a whiff of vanilla. This is a fruit bomb! The peach is strong - particularly in the aftertaste, along with pineapple and some ripe melon. There are notes of vanilla and mint from the Sabro hops that give it a Creamsicle quality. It's also quite dank. But there is also enough hop bitterness to keep it honest. I like the balance of sweet fruit and hoppy bitterness. The mouth feel is plush and creamy with moderate carbonation, and the 8% ABV gives it good substance without distracting. Overall, while Cape May can be hit or miss with me, Ghost Tracks is a home run. A very solid and enjoyable DIPA.

A - Extremely hazy dark orange gold color that's borderline opaque and a massive rocky, cream colored head with moderate carbonation. The head is extremely dense a good two fingers.
S - Aroma is very faint but what's there is a biscuity malt base with peach and citrus. Overall, fairly subdued.
T - Taste is way more intense than the nose would lead you to believe. Lots of resiny citrus and peach dominate from start to finish with a fair amount of resin involved as well. Well balanced finished between fruity sweet and fruity bitter.
M - Chewy soft body and a dry finish that makes the inside of the mouth feel like you have a layer of thin cotton sticking to it.
O - Not in your face with flavor, but overall soft and satisfying. Solid and I like what Cape May does.

Poured a chilled can (45f)
into a 16oz pint glass. 1.25" white head. Plenty of lacing on the glass. Pale gold haze.
Aroma is malt, bread, faint tropical fruits and citrus.
Taste follows the nose with plenty of malt flavor which is likely a function of the Maris otter grain which is evident in the medium-fullness of this craft beer as well as the crisp flavor on the tongue. Good balance between the tropical fruit, malt, and hoppy bitterness. Little bit of a cannabis flavor going on. Leans more sweet than hoppy bitter which is not a bad thing....the brewers make this work here in this DIPA rendition.
Mouthfeel is medium with a medium amount of carbonation. Pillowy feel with again a nice balance between sweet and bitter.
Overall, a well-crafted beer which I wouldn't expect less from such a phenomenon local brewery. I frequent the area quite a bit where the Ghost Tracks are located, so this makes the brew even more enjoyable in that they honored this local landmark.
Very well-crafted beer and quickly becoming one of my favorites. No doubt I will be getting this one again.
