Draft offering at the brewery. The brew appears dark brown in color with a brown head that retains well leaving a full wall of lace coating the glass.
The aroma consists of straight coffee, which is fitting of the name, with and addition of cocoa and a touch roasted earthen aspect.
The taste seems to be of watered down coffee with minimal roast element and just enough herbal hops to keep it in check as a beer. Not much of a malt or alcohol presence, it hides behind the flavor of coffee.
This is a medium to light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. Unfortunately, the aroma was the best aspect of this beer, the flavor however seemed to be driven by cheap coffee. Not a bad beer by any stretch, just missing the mark a little.
