If GREETINGS FROM EL SEGUNDO is our TIPA postcard that we metaphorically mailed to you, then LOST IN THE MAIL QIPA is the beer that drank too much of itself and never made it! This thing is BIG and probably wouldn’t fit into the mailbox anyways. Remember Nuclear Power Plant? Well if there was a wedding, Lost in the Mail would be Nuclear Power Plant’s best friend, and they’d be the first one’s at the bar, appear in everyone’s pictures and would help the happy couple cut the cake.

Misc.: Canned on May 12, 2022

Picked up this and three lagerish beers on a recent trip to Bottlecraft. Didn’t look at the canned on date of May 12, but being a 13.2 pct. beer it should hold up well. El Segundo’s website called it “If GREETINGS FROM EL SEGUNDO is our TIPA postcard that we metaphorically mailed to you, then LOST IN THE MAIL QIPA is the beer that drank too much of itself and never made it! This thing is BIG and probably wouldn’t fit into the mailbox anyways. Remember Nuclear Power Plant? Poured a light amber clear color with four fingers of rocky white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled Citra, cookie, grapefruit, Simcoe, pine, dank weed, resin, black pepper, Strata, Amarillo, tangerine and mixed berry. Better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted much better than the nose and really different. Super smooth for 13.2 pct. ABV. In order got chewy caramel, Simcoe, pine, black pepper, dank resin, weed, bitter grapefruit rind, Citra, Strata and tangerine. (Taste - 4.50)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 5.00).

Damn. Just a really awesome beer. So smooth for what it was. Could drink these all day (until I passed out). (Overall - 4.50)

Clear bright amber brew with plenty of foam in the Tripel Karmeliet tulip. Deeply fruity aroma with citrus and peach. You could just call this a Quintuple IPA and be done with it. Or a Double Imperial would be close enough. Very hot and fruity. Sweet with malt as the burn goes down the throat.

Good flavors, however, and quite sippable if you go about it carefully. Somehow it seems stronger than wine. Huge taste of orange peel, mango, and peach. Moderately bitter for all the hops. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine. Dated 03/03/23.
