Picked this beer up in San Diego on a pit stop. Figured the "citra" branding would be a sure win.
Appearance – Pours a light, cloudy, golden color. Little to no head and spotted lacing.
I prefer a heavier head and thicker coating, but was still optimistic.
Smell – Heavy citrus zest and light citra hops. The smell was good. Prefer a little more hop smell, but overall good.
Taste – Citra hits your mouth quick, however it dissipates just as quickly and you get just a light hop taste. Was pretty disappointed in the taste.
Mouthfeel – Lightly carbonated and smooth.
Drinkability – Easy to drink. Goes down smooth and leaves your mouth feeling refreshed. It's similar to drinking the lightest beer in the world with some hops.
Overall - Not a bad beer. However the citra didn't live up to its name and the beer was almost pilsner quality. It's ok if you aren't into heavy beer drinking and want to try something different than your multi-million $ ad company beers. I wouldn't pay $7 again for it tho.
Serving type: 22oz bomber
