A- Pours with a cranberry/blackberry juice hues in color, with a very much pink colored foamy head....itself, it is dense and creamy looking, and provides a artistic network of foamy lace that clings to the side of the glass! There appears to be plenty of smallish looking carbonation rising aggressively to the top of the liquid in this clear nectar!

S- Very muted overall, with hints of malt sweetness, tart berries and really nothing much else happening in this department....quite disappointing to tell you all the truth! Definitely no bourbon aroma, and even the finish really has no bite to it....lets hope that the taste is better...

T- Well this is better I suppose.....the flavors are nice initially, providing creamy vanilla infused berry sweetness, just a hint of the bourbon that is on the label, some mild, yet balanced malt, and perhaps some yeast to help round everything out....it reminds me of a berry ice cream that has melted....the finish is just of a slight tartness and it doesn't really linger on the palate...

M/O- Like I mentioned before, it is creamy, and the carbonation is rather velvety on the palate. I don't detect really any of the alcohol either and maybe the bourbon shows itself more in this category, giving this a medium body and a richness not found in a lot of fruit beers. Overall it is drinkable enough but its kinda meh to me....I'd have it again but wouldn't go out of my way to get it either.

473ml can - nothing in the way of info on the label as to how the word 'Bourbon' got into this one's name.

This beer pours a clear, medium magenta colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, rocky, and mildly fizzy pink head, which leaves some decent layered alien script lace around the glass as it rather lazily subsides.

It smells of juicy blackberries, some musky florals, grainy and bready caramel malt, ethereal generic woody notes, a hint of wan yeastiness, and very, very subtle earthy, leafy, and musty hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy cereal malt, some blackberry and raspberry fruitiness, vanilla extract, a still pretty ephemeral woodiness, faint estery yeast, and more well-understated leafy, musty, and floral green hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly active in its palate-pinging frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, with just a hint of fruity tartness maybe not playing all that well with the proverbial neighbourhood kids here. It finishes off-dry, that floral berry essence predominating.

Overall - yeah, if it didn't say 'Bourbon' on the label, I would not have even noticed the minuscule amount that is present in this offering. Add to that the meek 5.3% ABV, and things don't quite make sense, other than the heady dose of dark fruity character that saves this particular 'Wild Thing' in the end.

This is a super tasty beer. It looks great in the glass, gives you lots of berries on the nose, and finishes nicely on the palate. The bourbon is barely discernible, but that is a wee problem when you consider the overall package. Lovely summer drinking indeed!
