2022-2023 vintage
Pours a fizzy small head with lower retention, clear toasted orange color
Nose has nice funk, barnyard funk with souring bacteria, a little almost berry lemon fruit note, soft rounded tart edges, hint of oak
Taste is nice but on the lighter side overall, more blended flavors than super funky, but good barnyard funk in there, fair acidity and souring bacteria, a little bready, hint of oak, flashes of various fruits from berries to stone fruit, a little musty white grape skin, mild flemmy tart finish with a big acidic bite, some bitterness lingering from out of nowhere
Mouth is med bod, high effervescent carb, fair acidity
Overall pretty nice, more rounded than many of the other Tilquin gueuzes, sour but not overly, enjoyable although that strange bitterness on the finish is a little unpleasant
