12oz bottle poured into a snifter. The aroma is doughy with fresh oranges, coriander, lemon zest, and a touch of candy sugar. It pours a hazy and somewhat murky with sediment, effervescent pale yellow and is topped by a white, big foamy head that has good retention and mild lace. The taste is a medium / medium high bittersweet blend. The texture is oily with a frothy carbonation (that has a bit of zip). The medium light body has a bread grains character with a mild bittersweet citrus, and a mellow and smooth caramel. It finishes crisp and clean with a strong citrus peel and spice character and leaves a mild, but lingering aftertaste that's dry and clean with a bitter floral spice and chalk chalk.

12 oz. bottle from Father's Day ($1.89 at Copper Vine), dated 5.28.15 and poured into a nonic pint.

A- Cool, mystic/hippie style label. A regular pour makes for a 1-finger, eggshell head. The body is clean and straw-yellow with medium-light carbonation. The head drops to a light film and leaves distinct, foamy rings.

S- Mostly pine and grapefruit hops with sweet and ready undertones. The hops open up after a while and present grapefruit and melon.

T- As the aroma suggests, I get a lot of pine and grapefruit hops with grain and pizza dough in the background. The finish is very dry with woody notes. Very hop-centric.

M- Medium-light body with moderate carbonation and a big hop bite.

O- Hoppy and fresh. A bit one-dimensional. I could use more of a malt backbone. It comes off like many of the session IPAs-nearly hoppy water (even at 6.1% ABV). In the end, it pretty much edges out the middle of the road APAs.

I picked up a bottle of Greenbush's Yogi Borealis last week for $1.89 at The Lager Mill. I'm always down to try a new beer from Greenbush, so lets see how it goes. No visible bottling date. 2015 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a imperial pint glass.

A- The label looks ok, it's a little weird and a little eye catching. It poured a hazy yellow color that took on more of an orange hue when held to the light with a finger and half worth of white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking Pale Ale, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the hops being the first top show up and they impart some nice citrus and tropical fruit aromas with pineapple seeming to stick out the most and it's followed by some dank and slight cat piss like hop aromas. Up next comes the malts which impart some pale malts, slight bread and light sweet malt like aromas with some doughy yeast showing up in the background. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, I like the fruity hop aromas.

T- The taste seems to be fairly similar to the aroma and it starts off with a lower amount of medium sweetness with the hops still being the first to show up and this time the aspects that I got in the taste are a lighter and I get more of a generic hoppy and green flavor. Up next comes the malts which impart the same aspects that they did in the aroma with some doughy yeast showing up in the background. On the finish there's a medium amount of bitterness with a hoppy aftertaste. Thus is a nice tasting beer, but I wish the hop profile was more like it was in the aroma.

M- Smooth, crisp, a little clean, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a nice beer and I thought it was a nice example of a Pale Ale, it had pretty much all the aspects that I expect from the style and I didn't pick up any off flavors or aromas. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple of them. What I like the most about this beer was the hop profile in the aroma and the balance, those were the highlights of this beer to me. What I like the least about this beer was that the hop profile in the taste wasn't more like it was in the aroma. I might buy this beer again if I'm in the mood for a Pale Ale and I wouldn't turn one down. I recommend try it if you like Pale Ales and SMASH beers. All in all I liked this beer, but I didn't love it and i think it could use a little more work when it came to the hop profile in the taste, but it's still a nice beer. It's not my favorite Greenbush beer and it's a little above average for the style. Nice job guys, but with a little more work this could be a pretty good beer.
