Loved the vibe, beer quality has always been inconsistent in bottle but draft was excellent. Excellent service and awesome taplist. Make sure and visit annex across the street from taproom, where you can also drink and fulfill all your charcuterie needs.

Had tried a few of their beers prior to visit so I was pretty amped. Place is chill. Sat down on pation with a group of 4, and a 5th that came later. Waitress was very welcoming (and patient with our beer geek tendencies). Food was excellent. Pastrami to die for. Beers were good to excellent. Not a clunker in the bunch. Standout beers were: Remnant of Dragon Imperial Red IPA, Brother Benjamin Imperial IPA with honey, Monopolipa, and Star Chicken Shotgun. And across the street at the Annex, RAGE.

Stopped at Greenbush on June 4th on our way back to Chicago from Michigan. Very easy to get to, right off I-94 with decent parking on the main drag of town. This was my 3rd time at Greenbush and was pretty similar to past experiences. The vibe is always a big plus, friendly, not too loud, but always "happening", beautiful space in a cool old garage, though this past time the A/C was cranked up to the max on a cool 60 degree day, wasn't too pleasant. The quality is pretty decent, I've never been blown away by the beer at Greenbush, but it's certainly never offensive, solid stuff that is easy to drink. The servers work hard, but every time I've gone I've always thought another server was needed, service is typically slow though the staff is always friendly and as helpful as they can be. The beer selection is great always a wide variety of things availability across all styles, I think there were about 15 different beers on tap this past visit. The food however, has consistently been a bummer, the menu reads well, sounds good, but every time I've ordered something it's been either bland, burned or just unappetizing. This past visit we ordered a soft pretzel that was burnt to a crisp, and my club sandwich was rubbery and a chore to eat.

Verdict: I like Greenbush beer but their taproom is a let down. The prices are great for drafts and growlers don't seem too expensive either, but the food just isn't worth stopping for to me. I'll continue to pick up Greenbush at the store to enjoy at home, but sadly, I don't think I'll make a point of returning to the brewery soon.

Just a couple of blocks east of I-94, it is very easy access. I had the brisket sandwich and it was very good, not Texas quality, but extremely good for Michigan. The place was busy and our waitress was occupied by a needy table of twelve. Another waitress helped her out and ensured we didn't go dry. A little loud because it was crowded but we could talk at our table of four. The beer selection had something for everyone and I loved the Star Chicken IPA. I can't wait to go back.

Not a bad place to pull off the Highway (I-94) and grab some grub.
Pluses are: patio / beer garden; friendly waitstaff; good food; on-premises beer processing; growlers to-go; clean restrooms; generous deals on draft beer if you want to join their beer-mug club
Minuses are: train tracks are right up against the patio / beer garden (really loud); music on the PA was too loud and quite unpleasant (that's a personal preference... I am mid-50s)

Visited during Labor Day weekend.

The place was packed, but waited for 45 minutes across the street at the annex and sipped a Brother Benjamin

Went next door when we were called, and had a flight with a friend. Beer selection was great.

If you get the food, then get the BBQ/smoked meats as all smoking/BBQing is done in-house.

Service was "meh", but overall a great time.,

Great spot. Definitely the cool local hang out, packed at all hours of the day. Food is decent - slightly better than serviceable though not entirely generous or creative - but the beer selection is broad and solid. On a sunny day the outdoor areas across the street are a win.

Nice menu and good selection of beers. They have a flight option for a reasonable cost. We walked in and were seated right away. Easy to get to. Not too far from I94.

Place was packed at 2 on Wednesday. Came in to check it out and grab a flight. I sat at the bar in the main restaurant (not the annex). They beers on tap were a good mix of the stuff they bottle as well as some brewery-only. The flight price was a bit high a ~$12 if I recall correctly, but the pour size was solid.

So its right off the interstate so I had to stop. ..I mean it is a brewery right? So first off let me just say I'm not a fan of any of their beers however it's a great place to eat and the staff was awesome. Love the small town atmosphere with a addition across the street. I definitely will stop every time I goto lansing! Just for the food though.

Greenbush is a solid brewery with good tasting beer, friendly staff and great food. The annex across the street is a perfect addition; you can sip a beer while waiting for your table. Always a good selection of beers on tap and available for carry out.

Went here on vacation few years back, they had been open for a few weeks only and had 6 or so beers at the time. Great place to stop in if your nearby.

They always have something good on tap and their BBQ is ridiculously good. I highly recommend the BBQ sampler, especially the brisket. Greenbush has some of my favorite beers and it's been awesome seeing them grow up. From a small tasting room to the brewpub and annex they are today I can only imagine where they are headed next. A must for anyone traveling trough the area. It's right off the highway in Sawyer, MI. If you do plan on going I suggest getting there early as seating is minimal and it always fills up.

I swung by Greenbush on the way back from the 4 Elf party. By the time I got there I was burned out and tired from the bottle share that took place 12 hours ago! The atmosphere was great, server friendly and the food was amazing. If you ever go there you must try the Mac N Cheese with brisket.

This brewery is very eclectic and reminds me of the pre-prohibition era when every town had a brewery and every town had a ma and pa type of hardware store. The food is solid and their BBQ is highly regarded by many of the locals that I talked to. I had a sampler when I was there and a pint of Doomslayer which was awesome. They make some awesome beer and have a really laid back atmosphere that makes it so you don't want to leave. I will definitely be coming back again!

Really cool wood-and-industrial brick venue, ever-expanding, great service, incredible food, and - of course - amazing beer every time. The price point is a great value for the high quality beer and food. They have great flight options and taster-size pours. Many taps that rotate often. And truly, the food is awesome. Only unfortunate thing is that it is a bit out of the way, but it's definitely worth the trip.

Stopped here a few weeks ago and had a great time. They have a great selection of beers and the food is great. All reasonably priced. They do tend to get quite packed, which makes it a little difficult to get a table and a beer if you don't have a table already. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I will be returning for sure.

A surprisingly nice place for a beer and a sandwich in the middle of a very small town. Sit inside or out on the patio and watch the trains roll by as you enjoy a cold one. Their flights are a little pricy at $12, but on-the-other-hand they provide a very generous 6 oz serving for each of the beers. It includes five samples from their 'A' list and one from their 'B' list. Nice range of brews ranging from blondes to IPA's to Belgians. They had a great crowd on a Monday afternoon when I was there. Friendly folks and good beers.

This place is great. It's pretty sleepy in Sawyer so Greenbush is always packed. Their tap selection is good and I am always shocked at how good their beers are for such a small place. The food is astounding. I am not usually a fan of BBQ but loved it here. It's kid friendly which is nice when you still want good beer but can't find a baby sitter.

It's right off the interstate so definitely stop by if you ever have chance.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, so of course the place was packed. But the atmosphere was great and it is such an awesome place to stop in and have a pint over some awesome food! Because of the timing and the crowd, the guys behind the bar were running like mad to keep up, but we didn't really wait on anything. The beer and food both came very quickly, and despite being slammed, everyone was very polite.

Since this place is right off the highway and close to the MI/IN border there was a nice diverse group of people from IL, IN, and MI hanging out or passing through. We had to wait maybe five minutes before some people gave up their spot at the bar to us and then proceed to stand and drink with us for a few minutes.

Their beer is very good and reasonably priced. Had a Dystopia and Brother Ben and I'd recommend both to anybody who likes craft beer. The food was amazing! Had the brisket mac and cheese and my mouth is now watering thinking about it. If you are passing through Michigan, you must stop off exit 12 on 94 and check this place out.

This is my third visit to the brewery but first review. The interior expansion is a good thing because there was barely enough room in the place for seating before the remodeling. Our group of three people had two samplers so we were able to taste all of the beers in the 'A' flight and two from the 'B' group. We graded them anywhere from an A- to a C minus, but overall the match works out to a B- rating. All of the beers were spot on for their style, but the grading varied depending on how much the beer WOWed us. This is a cool place and I'll return again.

Great experience from the start. Great decor. Food was really good. Beer was better. The service gave great advice. We really liked the C list of beers. They have a good selection of takeout beers. Location leaves something to be desired, but I will stop in whenever I pass through.

It is in a small town in southwest Michigan and is right off the freeway. Storefront is cute and there seems to be plenty of parking. When we walked in we were a little overwhelmed because there were a lot of people. Since we had the kids with us we almost left when all of a sudden this guy came out of nowhere and seated us. He was super friendly and gave us some history about Greenbush. We ordered a flight of 6 beers. I believe they were about 3oz each. They were all fresh and we enjoyed most of them. We ordered chips with blue cheese dip, wings, gumbo and pork sliders. Everything was really good, they aren't chintzy with spice. Our server was awesome even though they were packed. We will definitely return!!

We visited here on our little road trip. We left Chicago in the early morning and stopped here after going up to Virtue Farms first.

This place is great. We got there around 3pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. We wanted to grab food so we put our name on the list and waited 25 minutes. The time really flew by. We each grabbed a beer and wandered around.

Food was great. We had pretzels and cheese to start. Great cheap little appetizer and went perfect with the flights of beers.

I had the pulled pork for my meal. It was awesome. Great vinegary sauce and I ate it in a few bites.

Would go back anytime.

Stopped here 10-5-13, on our way to Traverse City for a week to celebrate our first anniversary. Got here mid-afternoon (Saturday), and it was busy! We were told it would be a 45 minute wait, it actually took 20 minutes to get seated. It was tough to get a beer at the bar, but we did arrive shortly after a rather large group. The place just seemed slightly under staffed, maybe 1 more bartender and 1 or 2 more waitstaff would help. Some people would call the place loud while busy, I didn't find myself having to shout but it was a bit noisy. I feel like that would be different during times which were less busy. The inside area looked to seat 40-50 people plus 20 or so at the bar. There were another 8-10 tables on the back patio and luckily we got to sit outside, it was a beautiful fall day!

Having had Greenbush's beers numerous times out of bottles, I was excited to try their beers straight from the source. To be honest, I was let down. They had 14 beers on tap (at least on the menu they had 14, we only tried about half that) arranged in 3 different price groups. I had 2 of their barrel aged offerings, BA Mr Hyde and BA Vanderbush and my wife had a flight of 6 beers, including Unicorn Killer (their pumpkin beer, total disappointment). I was underwhelmed with most of the beers I tried (the wife loved their Cream Ale, Traktor) hopefully it was just an off day for me...going to return here on our way home and sample more beer.

The service we received at Greenbush was excellent. The hostess was extremely friendly and found us at the bar to notify us our table was ready, our server was excellent also...service with a smile, even when I had her run to the bar twice to get me some carry out beer. Only downfall was lack of service at the bar, but it was extremely busy. The food here was good, typical deli food. My only grumble here, my wife wanted to change something with the sandwich she wanted but was told that it was pre-made. Little weird if you ask me, but so be it.

Overall, definitely a must visit if you are in the area. Not necessarily a destination though. Carry out bottles are sold here, and are a more economical solution as growler prices seemed pretty steep. I will definitely be returning!
